Speed up work on Volta Teaching Hospital – UHAS Vice chancellor

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, UHAS, Professor John Gyapong, says Management of the Volta Regional Hospital must fast track process of work in upgrading the facility into a teaching hospital.
Professor Gyapong was speaking at the Second White Coat ceremony Organised for fourth year medical students of UHAS after successful transition from pre-clinical to clinical training.  In all 55 medical students were outdoored for the training.
President Nana Akufo-Addo announced that Cabinet has approved conversion of the Volta Regional Hospital in Ho into a Teaching Hospital in his maiden visit to the main campus of UHAS during his three day tour of the Volta Region in July.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Gyapong was hopeful that when completed the Ho Teaching Hospital will provide an avenue for practical training to UHAS students. He said since cabinet has approved the upgrading process, there is the need for a Board to be set up to supervise the road map for the conversion into a complete teaching hospital.
