The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), wants government to deport all foreign traders in the country without proper documents.
The stance which has arisen out of the closure of the Nigerian border is expected to hit hard at Nigerian traders.
Later Monday, GUTA is expected to address the media on their call and other issues arising from the closure of the Nigerian border, which has resulted in GUTA closing some Nigerian shops in the country.
In an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana ahead of the media encounter, Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer of GUTA, Albert Mensah-Offei said deporting foreign traders without proper documents is standard practice, adding that a number of Ghanaian traders in Nigeria have been sent home for similar reasons.
