The Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) of Nation Builders Corp (NaBCO), Dr. Ibrahim Anyars has advsied Trainees under the Corp to plan effectively to ensure that they exit the Corp seamlessly unto one of the prearranged pathways of retention in the institution they served, upgrading themselves academically or going into entrepreneurship.
He said this is crucial in order to justify the huge investment in the Corp and pave the way for others to benefit from it.
He was speaking at the Bono Regional version of the Expert Roadshow for Training and Capacity Building as part of the operations of the NABCO Skills and Talent Academy in Sunyani in the Bono Region.
The NABCO was introduced last year by the Government to help reduce graduate unemployment.
It aims at giving unemployed Graduates the opportunity to serve under the Corp in various fields for three years.
During the period the Trainees are expected acquire workplace experience and build their capacity to attract and retain more permanent jobs.
The NABCO Skills and Talent Academy is therefore in place to help trainees prepare for the future in line with the Work and Learn mantra of the Corp.
The NABCO Roadshow for Training and Capacity Building is consequently going around the Country to shore up the Capacity building drive.
Speaking to the GBC, the CEO of NABCO, Dr. Ibrahim Anyars, touched on the importance of the exercise as an opportunity for the Trainess to learn to augment the work experience they are gaining.
The NABCO Boss also expressed satisfaction with the output of the Trainees a year after the Corp was established.
The event was attended by over a thousand NABCO Trainees.
It featured panel discussions and presentations on topics like, the Digital Labour Market, Job Search and Career Pursuit, Agribusiness and Industrialization as well as Business Start Ups and Entrepreneurship.
Addressing the gathering the CEO of the NABCO, Dr. Ibrahim Anyars, said with Government spending about one billion Ghana Cedis on the NABCO annually, Trainees have no option than to take advantage of it to develop themselves in order not to derail Government’s human capital development agenda.
During a Panel Discussion, one of the Resource Persons and a Human Resource Expert, Thomas Laar stressed the need for Trainees to learn on the job since the knowledge acquired from school is not enough.
He also called for positive attitudes, honesty and discipline on the part of Trainees to be successful in the world of work.
