Ledzorkuku MP to address PWDs on Disability Day

Member of Parliament for Ledzorkuku, Dr. Nii Okoe Boye will address Persons with Disability (PWDs) on Tuesday, December 3, as Ghana joins the world to mark Disability Day.

Dr. Okoe Boye will join the More Hope for Disabled Foundation to observe the day at the Presbyterian Church at Teshie Tsui Bleoo, as PWDs gather to celebrate their abilities and reflect on issues affecting them.

He will speak on the topic: “The Future is Accessible, It begins Today- The Role of the Constituency”.

The MP, who has been very supportive of the Foundation and other PWDs in his constituency will also open a one-day exhibition of their products.

The Head of the Tsui Bleoo Presbyterian Church, Bethlehem Assembly, Rev Joyman Otchwemah, will speak on the role of Church in ensuring that the future is accessible.

Mr. Odey Mensah, President of More Hope for Disabled Foundation, appealed to all and sundry to come to the premises of the Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, December 3, to support PWDs.

He disclosed that the event would be preceded by a float through the streets of Teshie Tsui Bleoo to raise awareness on the needs of PWDs and to rally support for their activities.

“Come and join us celebrate our abilities as we join hands to defeat disability,” he appealed, adding that, “We can all help clear the wrong perceptions about disability by making life better for those who have a disability or another.”

The theme for this year’s United Nations International Day for Persons with Disability is Promoting the participation of persons with disabilities and their leadership: taking action on the 2030 Development Agenda.

The day will be observed across the world.
