Timber Recovery limited presents fishing equipment to Kete Krachi Fishers

Kete Krachi Timber Recovery Limited (KKTR) has presented fishing equipment to the Kwahu South District Assembly (KSMA) for onward distribution to Fishers in the District.

The fishing items made up of 144 Fishing nets and 300 Corks were received by the Kwahu South District Chief Executive, Emmanuel Atta Ofori and the District Coordinating Director, Joseph Frimpong Naayo at a brief ceremony at the Assembly at Mpraeso.

Operations Manager of Kete Krachi Timber Recovery Limited, the firm with state concession for harvesting tree stumps from the Volta Lake, Ali Marnah, said Management of KKTR was delighted to support the District Assembly in its effort to improve and enhance the work and welfare of fishermen in the District.

He said both the Chief Executive and Chairman of KKTR, Messrs Elkin Pianim and Francis Mawuena Kalitsi were grateful to the Kwahu South District Assembly, the District Security Council, (DISCE) and in particular the Chief Executive, Atta Ofori for bringing about a harmonious relationship between the Fishermen and KKTR which has ensured the peaceful operations of the company and the Fishers on the Lake Volta in the community.

Receiving the donation, the DCE said the fishing gadgets had come in good time as the Assembly was preparing to celebrate the 35th National Farmers Day on Friday, December 6, 2019.

He expressed the appreciation of the Assembly to KKTR Management for what he described as their ‘king and positive gesture’ in helping to promote fishing and the life of Fishers who plied their trade on the Lake Volta.

The Kete Krachi Timber Recovery Limited, a wholly owned Ghanaian company was inaugurated in November 2019 by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akofo-Addo as

One-District-One-Factory, (1D1F), at its project site at Sedorm-Yiti in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.
