Appointed Supreme Court Judges to appear before Parliament

Newly appointed  Justices to the Supreme Court are to  appear before The Appointments Committee of Parliament at public hearing planned for Monday, December 9, and Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

About a month ago, the President nominated three Justices to the Superior Court and communicated same to Parliament.

The Speaker subsequently referred the nominees to the Appointments Committee for consideration and report.

The public hearing slated for Monday will see two of the nominees – Justice Mariama Owusu and Justice Avril Lovelace – Johnson for public vetting.

On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, Justice Getrude Araba Esaba Torkornoo will appear to conclude the committee’s work.

All the hearings will commence at 10:00am each day and will be telecast live on all GBC channels and online via gbcghanaonline.com and on GBC Facebook page.
