Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu has advocated for more top coaches to join the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Maxwell Konadu recently joined Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko on a two-year deal and has been tasked to win the Ghana Premier League and qualify for the CAF Champions League group stage.

In an interview urged other top coaches in the country to take a cue from his appointment and also make themselves available to other Premier League clubs in the country.

“When top coaches come into the league it will also help promote the Ghana league. It is why I decided to join Kotoko and I entreat others to do same as well”, he told Happy FM.

Konadu also revealed that he will come with Abdualai Gazale who will serve as his assistant.

Gazale holds a CAF License A certificate and is qualified to sit on the technical bench of Asante Kotoko.

He further said, he will also work with the current members on the technical team.

“For now I will be coming with only one person. I am not going to sack anybody. Abdulai Gazale will be the person I bring on board. We need a lot of people to do the work and we will need everyone support”, he said on an Accra based radio station.

Abdulai is expected to hold the position as first assistant coach due to his qualification, followed by Johnson Smith with a CAF License B coach.

Maxwell Konadu’s first game will be against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the President Cup which comes off on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
