When school re-opened last week, pupils of the Gbawe Methodist One Basic School in the Gbawe Municipal Assembly knew they had classrooms for studies.

But the story is different for about 150 pupils who are stranded on the compound.

The affected pupils who are in kindergarten, and classes three, four and five have to endure the discomfort of either learning on the corridors of an uncompleted library or in an almost 100-year old dilapidated church building with the danger of it collapsing anytime.

All these have come about because the original classrooms the pupils occupied for some years have been locked up by the Municipal Education Directorate.

GBC’s Radio Ghana investigations revealed that pupils of ‘Gonse’ Basic school who share the same compound with the Gbawe Methodist One Basic School are rather using some of the locked classrooms.  Doreen Ampofo visited the school and has filed this report.
