President Akufo-Addo has inaugurated the Governing Board of the National Film Authority.
The 14-member Governing Board of the Film Authority which was sworn in today (December 20, 2019), has veteran Actor David Dontoh as it Chairperson and Juliet Asante as its Executive Secretary.
The functions of the National Film Authority are, amongst others, to supervise an economically, self-sustaining and culturally conscious film industry in the country; advise the Minister on matters affecting the film industry; to facilitate the establishment of a circuit for the distribution and marketing of Ghanaian films throughout the country and internationally; to ensure the development and administration of a code of ethics for the film industry; to oversee the Film Development Fund, and to set standards for training and accreditation of practitioners in the film industry.
