Technical University Teachers Association, TUTAG, has called off its strike.
A statement, signed by its President Dr. Solomon Keelson said TUTAG called off the industrial action to show respect to the rule of law and institutions of state that enforce law and order.
It said the action is also based on the understanding that payment of allowances shall not fall short of the existing rates paid to other public universities.
TUTAG also noted that the decision to call off the strike is a demonstration of good faith which must be reciprocated by all stakeholders.
The statement added that TUTAG will continue to press home its legitimate demands to ensure that the Ministry of Education among others resolve outstanding issues such as book and research allowance arrears.
