Charterhouse gears up for 2020 edition of VGMA

Charterhouse Ghana, organisers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, one of the biggest events on the entertainment calendar, has begun preparations for the 21st edition of the awards.

Last week, Charterhouse officially called for entries that fall within the calendar year opening January 1, 2019, and closing December 31, 2019.

The announcement kicks off the official start of the prestigious awards scheme that has been celebrating Ghanaian musicians and their creative works for over two decades.

In a press statement on Thursday, January 16, Charterhouse mentioned that the VGMA board had started sitting to categorise works that were being submitted from all over the country and beyond.

As such, musicians and other industry practitioners interested in submitting their works are encouraged to visit www.entry.ghanamusicawards.com to enter their works online or to download entry forms which must be submitted at the offices of Charterhouse in Accra not later than January 31, 2020.

“As part of the build-up towards this grand celebration slated for the month of May, selected members of the board and other stakeholders are engaging various arms of the industry in a series of dialogues and interactions aimed at improving the scheme for this year and beyond.

The outcome of these engagements will be shared with the general public soon,” the statement added.

Established in 2000, Charterhouse Ghana, is a leading events management and audio-visual production agency with branches in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cape Verde and Nigeria.

Apart from the Ghana Music Awards, the company organises the Laughs and Music series and is presently, the production company for MTN Hitmaker, a music reality show.
