The District Chief Executive of Dormaa East in the Bono region, Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Agyemang has urged the youth in the country to desist from activities that could trigger violence during and after the December 7th Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Agyemang made the call in an interview with Radio Ghana in Sunyani. He asked the youth to shun political violence and engage in profitable ventures like Entrepreneurship and make good use of the government’s flagship programs.
Studies have shown that most people fret at the mention of elections due to the scores of violence that often breakout before, during and after the period. In an attempt to allay the fears of the people, stakeholders engage in a series of activities to drum home the need for violent free elections. As the nation goes to the polls this December, events are ongoing to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections.
On the premise that the youth are often used to cause mayhem during such crucial periods in the country’s democratic dispensation, the Dormaa East District Chief Executive, Emmanuel Kofi Agyemang is taking the bull by the horn to talk the youth into staying focused and refraining from electoral violence.
Mr. Agyemang encouraged the youth to take advantage of government interventions like the Planting for Food and Jobs, Planting for Food and export, NABCO among others.
He also entreated all political parties to come up with good strategies to deal with their differences so together they can forge ahead as one people championing a common course for the good of Mother Ghana.
