The CID of the Ghana Police Service yesterday granted bail to the Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, after spending more than five hours at the CID headquarters.

Mr. Gyamfi’s arrest is alleged to be in relation to an on-going cybercrime investigation.

He was invited following investigations by the Cyber Crime Unit of the CID but refused to honour the invitation, hence his arrest yesterday.

Mr. Gyamfi has been directed to report to the CID once every week.

Addressing the media after his release, Mr. Gyamfi insisted he is not a criminal.

National Chairman of the NDC, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo told the crowd that had gathered at the CID Headquarters that the arrest of Sammy Gyamfi is part of diversionary tactics to sway attention from the debate on the voter’s register.
