The Mental Health Authority, is to set up a Review Tribunal, to handle cases involving people whose rights are abused through wrongful admissions at Psychiatric Hospitals.
The CEO of the Authority, Dr. Akwasi Osei said establishing the Tribunal is part of a four- year strategic plan aimed at improving mental health care in the country. He said officials of the Authority will be touring the regions, to ensure patients are not shackled or held under inhumane conditions.
Dr. Osei was speaking at a forum which focused on Policy, Legislation and Funding for Mental Health in Ghana.
