Police announce arrest of ‘notorious armed robber’

The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of a notorious armed robber Mohammed Buzu from his hideout at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.

The 29-year-old Buzu was arrested in connection with breaking into the residence of the IMF country Director, stealing from the residence of the Ambassador of Kuwait to Ghana and also from the residence of a Lebanese businessman in Ghana.

A news release issued by the Police said Buzu’s accomplices, Kenneth Antwi and Baffour Adjei Gyimah were also arrested.

“Suspect Kenneth Antwi is a receiver and sponsor for Buzu’s robbery escapade while suspect Baffour Adjei Gyimah is a receiver,” the release said.

“All three suspects have today 24th February, 2020 been remanded into Police custody by the Circuit Court Accra, presided by H/H Rosemary Baah Torsu”.

“Suspects Mohammed Buzu, Kenneth Antwi and Baffour Adjei Gyimah are believed to be connected to other crimes committed at residences at Cantonments and North Ridge, both at Accra and other similar areas”.

The Police has also published pictures of the suspects to enable the victims of crimes committed by the suspects to call the investigative team.
