NPP primaries: Vetting begins in Kumasi today

Vetting of NPP Parliamentary aspirants for the Ashanti region begins today in Kumasi.

The process which is to end on Thursday is to ascertain the truth of information provided by the aspirants and their eligibility.

One hundred and 20 parliamentary aspirants for the NPP are to be vetted for the remaining 44 Constituencies in the Ashanti region.

Three candidates have already been selected for the orphan Constituencies of the party. Six incumbent MPs are going unopposed.

They include the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah, Minister of Education Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh and Deputy Minister of Education Dr Yaw Adutwum. Out of the 120 aspirants, only seven are females.
