Former President, John Dramani Mahama has called for the implementation of aggressive preventive measures to tackle the outbreak of coronavirus, as it has penetrated some African countries.
Nigeria, recorded its first of the virus in February, with other African countries like Senegal and Algeria also recording cases.
In a statement, the NDC flagbearer said there should be immediate preventive methods as efforts are ongoing to find a cure.
He said Africa is vulnerable and has not been spared adding that Nigeria which is closer has recorded a case and this must be a wakeup call and a period for the implementation of aggressive preventive measures.
In portions of his statement, Mr Mahama asked global health authorities and other stakeholders to identify steps aimed at ending the deadly disease.
