COVID-19: Chief Justice tell Lawyers to attend Court without clients, grant long adjournments

The Chief Justice, Anin Yeboah says in a bid to contain spread of the coronavirus ,Members of the Ghana Bar Association, must attend Court without their clients and request long adjournments of cases.

He has also directed Judges and Magistrates to ensure that, during in Part-heard cases, only Lawyers, Parties and their witnesses are allowed in Court.

Further, Judges and Magistrates should also ensure that, in other cases , only Lawyers and parties are allowed in Court.

The Chief justice has also asked the bench to be flexible in granting adjournments during this period.

He said they should grant long adjournments in matters which do not require immediate resolution.

Justice Anin Yeboah said the directives which are supplemental is to decongest the Courts in the wake of the COVID 19 outbreak and called for maximum cooperation.
