In the Wake of the global covid-19 pandemic, the Wulom3i of the Ga State in collaboration with the McDan foundation have organised a cleansing prayer session for the entire country at the independence square in Accra.
The prayer session on Sunday March 29, 2020, which was sponsored by the McDan group of companies, brought more than 52 Ga (Accra) Wulom3i from the various clans of the Ga State under one umbrella to speak to the gods and pacify the gods and also ask the supreme god to bring to an end the coronavirus pandemic which has brought to a standstill all businesses in the whole world.
The cleansing exercise started at exactly 6 a.m. in the morning and lasted for about one hour.
Leading the prayer at the independence square was the Chief priest of La Traditional area, Lakpa Wulomo Numo Temo Obroni Vii.
“We the wulom3i of the Ga state have come together to pray to the Almighty God and to the gods of our land to ask for the divine intervention for the people of Ghana. We seek His face in this hard and difficult time to help the nation and heal us all from the deadly coronavirus which is crippling the whole world.”
He went on further to elaborate on the upcoming Homowo festival which he believes cannot be celebrated indoors.
“We have some few weeks to the celebration of our annual festival and looking at how deadly this virus is, we are the People of the Ga state are likely to have the celebration of the festival in our rooms which the gods will not be happy with, therefore we seek the face of the gods today and ask that before the following week begins, signs of departure of this virus be seen amongst the people of Ghana.”
“The chief priest thanked the group Chairman of the McDan group, Dr Daniel McKorley, for supporting them to accomplish the aim of coming out in their numbers to intervene for the nation.
In addition the subregional chief, Nii Amoah Akromansah, who is also known as Honorable Augustine Amah, advised to the youth of the Ga state and also elaborated on the importance of President Akufo-Addo’s directives for everyone to stay home.
