In the face of the growing spread of covid-19, parts of the Ningo Prampram Municipality which was hit by water shortage for months, has worsened, compelling residents to rely on untreated water from dugout ponds for their domestic use. The residents say water supply to the Community has not been regular since December last year.
According to them, adherence to the President’s directive to regularly washig hands has become difficult following the unavailability of water. They say appeals made to the District office of Ghana Water over the erratic water supply to their homes have not yielded any results. They are therefore calling on the authorities to come to their aid.
The Tema Regional Communications Manager of the Ghana Water Company, Sampson Ampah said the challenge has been fixed. He therefore gave the: assurance that water supply will be restored soon.
