A Survey conducted in the Western North Regional capital, Sefwi Wiawso has revealed that front liners of the novel COVID-19 are working without Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).
Among them are the Ghana Police, Fire and Immigration Services who provide security to the citizenry to avoid foreign intrusion.
This was observed during a visit by GBC Correspondent at Sefwi Wiawso to the various security services in the Municipality.
According to those interviewed who spoke on anonymity, they bought the nose masks and sanitisers themselves while some officers squeezed water out of stone to provide Veronica buckets, tissue and some disinfectant.
They wondered why more individual philanthropists and organisations are making donations daily in Accra but not extending them to other regions, especially the newly created ones including Western North.
The Security Personnel therefore appealed to the Sector Ministry as well as other departments and agencies and charitable organisations to consider their plight and come to their aid.
They also paid tribute to their colleagues who lost their lives in the course of duty on COVID-19 and asked government to take a cue from that to pay immediate attention to their request.
