The Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Dr. Yaw Baah has called on President Akufo-Addo to increase the 600 million cedis COVID-19 stimulus package for businesses.
He said though the amount is a good start, a lot more businesses and employees have lost their jobs and will need such a support.
This, in his view, will revive businesses, and employees will hopefully get their jobs back.
Dr. Baah was speaking at the virtual May Day celebrations held in the GBC Studios in Accra.
While asking workers to see the fight against COVID-19 as a shared responsibility, the TUC asked government to supply workers and the less privileged with free nose masks.
