A five member panel of the Supreme Court presided over by Chief Justice Anin Yeboah, has adjourned the case of Martin Amidu vrs Attorney General and businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome to the 24th of this month.

This was after the Chief Justice told the court that Lawyer for Mr Woyome could not appear in court because he is under the weather and has sought permission of the court through an excuse duty.

The Deputy State Attorney Godfred Yeboah Dame in an application, is seeking leave of the court for the state to acquire Mr Woyome’s properties since prospective buyers are unwilling to purchase the properties over fears that they could be returned to Woyome by future government.

Our Court correspondent Yvonne Asare Offei reports that Mr Woyome who was in court wanted to speak on the matter but he was asked to communicate through his lawyer and not to the bench.

The court has fixed the 24th of this month to hear the case and also allow Woyome’s lawyer ample time to fully recover.

The National Security Minister Albert Kan-Dapaah  wrote  a letter last March and copied the Attorney General and Minister of Justice about the auctioneer’s inability to sell Woyome’s properties as ordered by the Supreme Court.
