The District Chief Executive Officer (DCE) for Ningo-Prampram, Jonathan Doku paa Nii, has donated some essential items to two orphanages and a disabled society in the district.
The donation exercise, on Sunday June 7, started at Hearts of the Father Orphanage Home designed to house refugees and neglected orphans in Old Ningo.
The first set of essential items such as hand sanitisers, liquid soap, toiletries, bags of rice, cooking oil assorted drinks and many other items were presented to the home by the DCE.
“There are three significant days in a human life, the day we are born, the day we die and the day we get married, therefore I have made it a point of given back to society on every June 7 which happens to be the day I was born and so it’s always a pleasure to donate to the less privileged in society.”
“I have been coming here since 2008 and I have been doing this gesture to this very home every year and as we all know the kind of situation we are all in now, that is the covid-19 pandemic, so I deem it fit to come here again and put smiles on the faces of the vulnerable and I want to take the opportunity to call on everybody who can help in same capacity to come on board to help our societies.”
“Finally, I want to urge all my fellow Ghanaians especially my people here at Ningo Prampram that the coronavirus pandemic is real,” he noted, adding that, “it’s not a white man’s sickness as people are saying, please let us all try and observe all the precautionary measures and stay safe.”
Receiving the items on behalf of the Hearts of the Father Orphanage home, Acting Administrator and Accountant, Mr Eugene Charway expressed gratitude to the DCE for the timely gesture but ceased the opportunity to call on government through the DCE to come to their aid by providing the home with potable water.
The exercise continued to the Old Ningo Presby School Park where the second presentation was made to the Great Ningo Disable Association.
The Chairman of the Association, Mr Benjamin Ntiamoah received the items and thanked the DCE for the great gesture.
The exercise ended at the Kinder Paradise Orphanage Home in Prampram where the presentation of the items to the home was met by ceremonious happy birthday music by one of the orphans in appreciation for the DCE’s kind gesture to the home.
A social worker at the Home, Mary Adonegua, was full of joy as she thanked the DCE and requested for more of such donations to help the needy children in the home.
