This year’s Homowo by the Chiefs and People of the Ga State, has been launched at a virtual ceremony at Broadcasting House in Accra.
It was launched by the Angilcan Bishop of Accra, Right Reverend Daniel Silvanus Torto on Saturday, June 27.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, stakeholders decided to go virtual to reach out to the people of the Ga Traditional Area.
Even though the Country is not in normal times, the pandemic will not deter the Ga people from celebrating the Homowo.
Bishop Torto urged the citizens to continue to observe the Coronavirus protocols to avoid further community spread as the celebration begins in the month of July, with the Nungua Traditional Area.
Present at the launch was a Representative of the Ga Mantse, Traditional Leaders, the Clergy, the Tema Regional Director of Obonu TV, Mrs Loretta Vanderpuye, and other dignitaries.
The launch was accompanied by Ga Cultural songs.
