Seven persons have been arrested in Banda District by the Bono Regional Police Command in connection with the clash that ensued between the NDC and the NPP over voter Registration Exercise in Banda Ahenkro that claimed the life of a 28 year old man.
The seven, according to the Bono Regional Police PRO, Chief Inspector Augustine Kinsley Oppong in an interview, are currently being interrogated by the CID department for vital information before they put them before Court.
Chief Inspector Augustine Oppong called on the public to provide pictorial and video evidence to enable Police to arrest other suspects.
On July 13, violent clashes ensued between supporters of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress in Banda Ahenkro in the Banda District of the Bono Region, resulting in the death of one person.
Police investigations have led to the arrest of seven people.
According to the Bono Regional Police PRO, Chief Inspector Augustine Oppong, the seven suspects are currently being interrogated.
Chief Inspector Augustin Kinsley Oppong said Banda is now calm with the police beefing up security in the area.
He urged the people of Banda Ahenkro to go about their normal duties as the Police are in form control of the situation.
It would be recalled that the clash, which began with verbal confrontations over the ongoing voter registration, ended in violence and gunshots.
The deceased, Silas Wulo Chame, 28, a graduate teacher trainee from the Akim Oda Teacher Training College was allegedly accosted by the men at Banda Kabrono as he was returning from a visit to his pastor at Wenchi and stabbed leading to his death in hospital.
