President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed amazement at reports after going into a 14-day self-isolation on the advice of his doctors, that he had been flown to the United Kingdom for treatment because he had tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The president in his first public appearance with a meeting with the Vehicles and Asset Dealers union of Ghana to thrash out some aspect of the automobile policy which according to them will take them out of business also expressed appreciation to all for showing interest in his welfare.

“I want to thank you for your interest in my welfare, I am fine and I am here. I was sitting in my room and I was told I was sitting in a plane that was heading for Oxford, and it’s trajectory plotted on a map. I was amazed but there it is, this is the Ghana in which we live, thank you,” President Akufo-Addo said.

He said he has been in Ghana throughout his two-week isolation period.
