The President of the Ghana Institute of Architecture (GIA), Richard Nii Dadey has advised Ghanaians to employ the services of Architects since they are relatively cheaper. Mr Nii Dadey gave the advise at the World Architecture Day Celebration in Accra.
World Architecture Day is celebrated on October 1 annually to appreciate the works of architects while celebrating some of the great arts and works of other creatives.
The Ghana Institute of Architecture, GIA celebrated the day with an exhibition and a panel discussion on the globally selected theme; “The essential role of Architecture and good design in making the planet a greener place to live.”
The President of the Ghana Institute of Architecture, Richard Nii Dadey asked the public to avoid employing the services of non-professionals.
An Architect, Akosua Mensah advised Architects in Africa, especially in Ghana to do away with using Western concepts for their projects.
The Ghana Institute of Architecture noted that, they are ready to support the government by working with the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) for better planning of communities in Ghana.
