President Akufo-Addo has given the assurance that ongoing works on the Sunyani Airport Runway extension will be completed by the end of September 2020.
The President gave the assurance when the Omanhene of Dwenem Traditional Area, Nana Bofo Bene, and his Elders called on him at the Jubilee House.
The visit was to thank the pResident for what the chiefs called unprecedented development in the region.
Nana Bofo Bene said the development project in the region can only be equated to that of the Busia government in 1969.
They also praised the President for settling chieftaincy disputes in the region.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Nana Bofo Bene was impressed with the road infrastructure in the region.
He was grateful for the Sunyani Airport project and other projects in the region.
Nana Bofo Bene, who is also the Vice President of the Bono Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, requested government to absorb the Dwenem Community Senior High School into the public school system.
President Akufo-Addo was grateful to the chiefs for appreciating the work of government. He promised more such developments for the area.
The Bono region is one of the regions that was carved out of Bono Ahafo.
