Pressure group, Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) says it remains resolute to hit the streets of Accra on Monday, September 21, to protest against the controversial Agyapa minerals Royalties agreement.

The group’s earlier application to the Ghana Police was turned down.

According to the Accra Regional Police Commander, restriction imposed on public gatherings of more than two hundred has not been fully lifted and the anticipation of 20,000 participants in the demonstration has a tendency of breaching the COVID-19 protocols.

Speaking to GBC’s Augustus Acquaye, however, Executive Director of ASEPA, Mensah Thompson, says they will go ahead with their planned action.

He said it is only the court that can stop them.

Mr. Thompson accused the Police of being biased in their dealings with Ghanaians so far as demonstrations are concerned.
