Leadership of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) will hold a special event at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum this morning to commemorate Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day.

The day has been set aside as a Public Holiday and for this reason the CPP is meeting at the park to lay wreath in remembrance of Ghana’s first President and the founder of the party.

September 21 was declared a Statutory Public Holiday following the passage the Public Holiday Amendment Bill into Law in March 2019.

Former President John Evans Atta Mill’s government initiated a legislation in Parliament to declare September 21 a holiday in memory of Dr. Nkrumah.
