The Takoradi Airport Terminal building which was leaking and causing serious inconvenience to travellers is being renovated.
Besides providing comfort to travellers, it will enhance the operational efficiency of the Air Force and Airline Operators.
GBC’s Desmond Cudjoe’s reports that during an inspection of ongoing works, the Minister for Aviation, Kofi Addah, said there is a need to position the aviation industry for it to play its crucial role of facilitating air travel.
According to Mr Addah, while government is helping to refurbish the terminal, it is also working on the proposed Takoradi International Airport where feasibility studies are ongoing.
“The aviation sector has been recognised by the President as a very important element of the economic development, and that’s why we are looking to expand aviation, develop infrastructure, improve services and make sure that we’re able to support business development, tourism, all the other thing that enhance the economic lives of our people.”
