The Minority in Parliament is demanding the immediate suspension of the contract agreement signed between government and Frontiers Healthcare Solution Services Limited to conduct COVID-19 testing at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) for travelers.

According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs), the award of the contract breaches the country’s procurement law.

Addressing the press, Minority spokesperson on Health, Kwabena Mintah Akando alleged that the contract was awarded to President Akufo-Addo’s close friend by name Benedict Peters whose company has links with Frontiers Healthcare Solutions undertaking these testing.

Mr. Akando questioned why the contract was not awarded to Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research to conduct the test at KIA.

Mr. Akandoh also demanded full scale investigation into what he described as unconscionable corrupt, cruel, self-enriching and stinking scheme to ensure those behind it are brought to justice.

He served notice that if nothing is done, the next NDC government from January 7, 2021 will not only abrogate the contract but will also go after all those who have conspired to perpetrate the alleged grand scheme of wicked extortion on the good people of Ghana.
