Fix security challenge before December 7 elections – Asantehene tells IGP

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu has urged the Security Services, particularly, the Police Administration to do their utmost best to ensure peace in the country, before, during and after the December 7 Election.

He said Ghanaians have entrusted their safety, National Peace and Security into the hands of the Police Service.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu made the call when the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong Boanuh called on him at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to solicit his support to ensure peaceful elections.

 The IGP, James Oppong Boanuh was in the Ashanti Region to assess the Command’s Operational Preparedness for the December 7 General Election, as well as interact with his counterparts in the other security services.

The Regional Police Command conducted full-scale simulation exercises at the Police Training School at Patasi, aimed at demonstrating the preparedness of the officers ahead of the election.
