NPP Yapei-Kusawgu MP aspirant Abu Kamara killed in road crash

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Yapei-Kusawgu in the Savannah Region, Abu Kamara is reported dead.

According to the Savannah Regional NPP Director of Communications, Mohammed Issah, the car he was driving was involved in a head-on collision with an articulated truck at the Datoyili police barrier on the outskirts of Tamale while returning from a short campaign.

He said Mr. Kamara will be buried later today according to Islamic tradition.

Abu Kamara was 45-years-old.

Mr. Issah said as part of the party’s last respect to the candidate it has put on hold all party activities until further notice.

Reports indicate that two others who were travelling with him also died in the accident.
