Political parties put a spin on position on ballot paper

Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo will be number one on the ballot paper while the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama will be number 2.

This came to light as the EC organized balloting for the political parties yesterday after announcing qualified candidates to contest in the election.

The Ghana Union Movement (GUM) will be number 3, while the Convention People’s Party (CPP) will take number 4 on the ballot paper.

 

The rest of the order is as follows Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) number 5, Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) number 6, All People’s Congress (APC) number 7, Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) number 8, People’s National Convention (PNC) is number 9, Progressive People’s Party (PPP) number 10, National Democratic Party (NDP) number 11 and independent candidate number 12.

EC ON INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES

Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of Operations, Samuel Tettey explained that independent candidates do not take part in the balloting and are automatically placed last on the ballot paper.
