The two major political parties – the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are expected to sign a peace pact today to reaffirm their commitment to peaceful elections this year.
Executive Secretary of the National Peace Council, George Amoh, told GBC’s Radio Ghana that the peace pact is being facilitated by the Council for the two main parties to take up the responsibility of ensuring violence-free elections before, during and after December 7.
He expressed optimism that the parties will ensure that their supporters do not foment trouble to plunge the country into chaos.
