The Electoral Commission (EC) says it has received results from 14 of the 16 regions, with the exception of Bono East and Northern regions.
Of the number, the Commission has certified results from 7 regions, and hopes to certify the rest and declare results for the Presidential election this morning.
At a media briefing at its headquarters in Accra, Chairperson of the Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa explained that the EC was unable to declare the results within 24 hours after polls closed on election day due to a number of challenges, which slowed down the collation of results at various centers.
