Eastern Regional Director of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Samuel Kwakye, has advised consumers to be wary of unwholesome products on the market during and after the festive season.
He said some food and medicine processing factories are not using the right processes before sending their products to the market.
This, he said, can be dangerous to consumers and urged all to be vigilant and report such development to the FDA for legal action to be taken against them.
Mr. Kwakye gave the advice in an interview with the GBC in Koforidua.
He advised the public to always look out for the FDA registration number, batch detail of the product and logo of the Ghana Standards Authority on it before purchasing.
He stressed that a certified product can become unwholesome due to poor preservation.
