NDC’s Flagbearer in the just-ended elections John Dramani Mahama says his decision to challenge the outcome of the 2020 presidential election is to eliminate any doubt concerning the election results.
In his address to the nation last night, Mr. Mahama said his petition to the Supreme Court is not because he is desperate for power as people suggest but it is because he holds Ghana’s democracy in high esteem. He said Ghanaians have always stood for principles hence the irregularities and inconsistencies in the election results do not reflect the will of the people.
Mr. Mahama asked the Supreme Court to compel the Electoral Commission to conduct a second election with just him and the incumbent, Nana Akufo-Addo as candidates. He also wants an order of injunction restraining President Akufo-Addo from holding himself out as President-elect.
Mr. Mahama said he fears the incidents of election violence have eroded the democratic gains of the Fourth Republic. At least seven persons died in election-related violence during the polls and said this shows the country was moving backward, not forward.

Well explicit education by Former President but it is impossible to obligate to your petition. Because election is won at the polling station as quoted by Dr Afari Gyan.
