Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu has debunked reports that he and twenty-four other NDC MPs have refused to honor a police summons to appear before court today.
According to news making rounds, the minority MPs have been sued for allegedly violating the public order Act when they marched to present a petition to the EC without giving any notice to the police.
Addressing the media in parliament, Mr Iddrisu said neither he nor any NDC MP was served with any summons.
He said it is not even true that the police were not notified of their procession to the EC office, insisting that the NDC party to which they belonged, wrote and notified the police of series of actions including demonstrations that they intend to undertake to register their displeasure about the 2020 elections.
He added that the minority in parliament also notified the Marshall department of Parliament as well as the parliamentary police unit.
