The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) says names of companies importing substandard goods on to the Ghanaian market will only be published after it has satisfied itself of being on the right side of the law.

The Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) has given the Authority a seven-day ultimatum to publish names of all companies flooding the Ghanaian market with inferior products.

Executive Officer of the CPA, Kofi Kapito declared at a news conference that if report or the names of the companies were not published, the CPA will go to court to seek the guidance of the court to force Professor Alex Dodoo to release the names.

Executive Director of the GSA, Professor Dodoo said the Authority is aware of the demand of the CPA to publish the names of the substandard products-importing companies and for that to happen the Authority has to be convinced it’s on the right side of the law.
