The Ghana Health Service (GHS) says it is safe for kindergarten pupils to wear nose mask as school resume today.
It said even though WHO advises that children under five years should not be required to wear nose mask, the Service believes they can wear it under supervision.
Deputy Director of Public Health of the Ghana Health Service Dr. Franklin Asiedu-Bekoe has therefore urged teachers to be on the lookout for children, who may show uncomfortable signs while in the mask and assist them.
He entreated school managers to ensure proper ventilation and spacing in the classrooms adding that the Service has mapped out all schools to health facilities to quickly respond in case of an emergency.
Dr. Asiedu-Bekoe noted that once covid-19 preventive protocol and early detection as well as response measures are adhered to, they should be no cause for alarm.
