General Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, David Tenkorang-Twum, has confirmed that eight hundred and forty nurses and midwives have contracted Covid-19 with four deaths in the country.
In an interview with Radio Ghana, Mr. Tenkorang-Twum called on government to hasten the payment of incentives to all frontline health workers to motivate them to work confidently since the Covid pandemic still persists.
He said only few of them have received theirs.
On the issue of PPE, Mr. Tenkorang-Twum called on Government to as a matter of urgency increase the stock of PPE for distribution to facilities at all levels to enhance the safety of health professionals.
He said they are not in support of the call to close basic schools but rather as individuals, parents should be responsible to teach their children to do the right thing.
