The Ghana National Tomato Traders and Transporters Association has called on government to, as a matter of urgency, provide them with security as they go about their businesses.
They have also asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to impress upon Ghana’s Ambassador to Burkina Faso to release one of its Cargo Drivers who has been arrested and detained in Burkina Faso for about three weeks for allegedly being involved in a road accident.
Chairman of the Association, Eric Osei-Tuffuor, made the call following the latest attack on members of the Association leading to the shooting to death of a 22-year old cargo driver by suspected robbers at Tongo in the Upper East region.
