US cities of New York and New Jersey have been placed under a state of emergency after a massive winter storm hit the east coast, grounding flights and shuttering vaccination sites.
The US National Weather Service said the storm will move up to New England, before tapering off later today.
Wind gusts of up to 80 kilometer per hour are also forecasted for several days creating a blinding, blowing snowstorm.
The storm has brought havoc on local travel. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has issued an order restricting non-essential travels.
