Minister for Interior nominee, Ambrose Derry, has given assurance that the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein Suale will not die.
This is despite the fact that two years after he was murdered, no one has been prosecuted for the offense.
Ahmed Suale was an investigator with Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI before he was slain at Madina two years ago in what some believe was linked to the release of the controversial ‘Number12’ investigation on football corruption.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that Ahmed Suale was shot by two gunmen on a motorbike. Subsequently, the police CID stated that 14 people including Anas Aremeyaw Anass, Kwesi Nyantakyi and Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, were questioned in connection with the killing.
No one has yet been prosecuted.
The family of the late private investigator has accused the Police of abandoning his murder case two years after the incident.
According to them, enough evidence has been presented to the CID, yet they have failed to act on it.
Answering a question from the MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, during his vetting Tuesday, February 16, however, the Minister for the Interior nominee, Ambrose Derry, said limited technological challenge is hampering the progress of the case adding that foreign experts have been invited to help solve it.
