Minister of Information Nominee, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has encouraged radio stations that had their licences revoked by the National Communications Authority (NCA), to re-apply for a new license.
He said the NCA will be obliged to assist the affected radio stations regularise their authorisation to operate.
“We continue to encourage that they should reapply and the NCA would be obliged as they go through their processes to where appropriate, where available provide them with the necessary spectrum authorisation for their work.”
Making his appearance before the Appointments Committee on Thursday, February 18, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah gave an update on the implementation of the Right to Information Act.
He spoke about what he will do to ensure that Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), gets the needed financial assistance to carry out its mandate. He said this will be done through the Digital Access Fund.
