The Ghana Health Service will from Wednesday October 17 begin a nationwide vaccination for Measles and Rubella for children from nine months to age five.
More than four million of them are expected to be vaccinated.
National Programme Manager of the Expanded Programme on Immunization, EPI, Dr. George Bonsu  in an interview with GBC on the need for this vaccination said, “Measles and Rubella are both serious. When a child gets measles, the child can develop fever and there are complications with it. One complication is that the child can become blind, deaf, etc”
