African Football legend and Ambassador for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Samuel Eto’o, today (March 23), hosted a virtual roundtable with selected African media to discuss the qualifiers as it nears its climax.
He said Qatar’s preparation towards hosting the World Cup is going on steadily with nearly 90% of work on all stadia complete.
He said all stadia for the tournament will be completed by the end of this year.
Speaking on Qatar’s preparation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic and the upcoming tournament, the football legend said with 600 days to the kickoff, he is hopeful that the pandemic will come down for all activities to normalize .
Samuel Eto’o made the comments during a virtual media roundtable organised by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The virtual conference was to offer the Media the opportunity to ask Mr Eto’o questions related to the tournament, legacy for Africa, African qualifiers among others.
